About the organization
The Environmental Office, with about 35 employees, is part of the Urban Development Administration.

With us, you will find a pleasant workplace with competent staff, good collaboration, high participation, and a positive atmosphere. You will be part of the conservation team along with three other ecologists and a biodiversity advisor. In the team, we like to discuss cases to help each other, increase everyone's knowledge, and create consensus. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other offices, administrations, and the city's companies.

Job responsibilities
As an ecologist, you will be one of the city's conservation experts working to preserve, develop, and showcase biodiversity. On the city's land, we work together with managers of parks, nature, and forest land to ensure the preservation and development of biodiversity, especially in our municipal nature reserves and areas with higher natural values.

We actively participate early in Trollhättan's city planning work to highlight conservation issues in the urban development process. We aim to be a support and work to ensure that Trollhättan achieves the highest possible conservation benefits. Part of our work is strategic, and part is project-based. We also work to showcase nature and its values to the public in various ways and respond to questions regarding nature and water conservation. Daily tasks include reviewing referrals for building permits, shore protection cases, and water activities to ensure that the municipality's natural values are considered. We also conduct sampling of lakes and watercourses in the municipality.

We work on continuous improvements and are open to new ideas to develop our working methods, assessment criteria, and routines. We believe that joy creates action. Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a completed university degree in ecology/conservation or equivalent. It is advantageous if you have at least some years of work experience as an ecologist in the field, especially in urban planning and water conservation. You find it easy to collaborate and communicate with others, take responsibility, and are confident in yourself. You are solution-oriented and can express yourself well both verbally and in writing. It is important that you can structure and coordinate the work. A driver's license (B) is required. We place great emphasis on personal qualities and that you fit into the group.
